Son of legendary record producer Shelby Singleton — the man who bought Sun Records from Sam Phillips — Stuart grew up where music history meets music business. He started his first company on his 18th birthday, spent four years booking 300+ shows across Nashville's indie scene, then launched Cake Records in 2018 as a full-service label and publisher. Under the alias Casein, he's produced lofi instrumentals with over 6 million Apple Music plays and editorial placements across every major platform.
Today he builds the infrastructure independent artists need: software for organizing and strategizing a catalog, a creative home for a label and its people, and the tooling that lets one person run like a team. He's also working to carry his family's legacy forward in Nashville.
When he's not writing songs, shipping code, or structuring deals, he's behind a camera, with ten years of photography spanning Nashville to the south of France, or in the kitchen making something from scratch.
His operating philosophy is simple: jack of all trades, master of none, but better than a master of one. He thinks in webs, not lines. Builds things to process the world. And believes that independence doesn't mean isolation; it means owning your work while choosing who you collaborate with.

Building the next layer
Writing songs, always. Building software that helps artists organize and strategize the work behind the music. And developing firmware for a new way to listen to and discover music — the kind of thing that makes people want more before they know what it is. Shipping code and writing songs, same conversation.
